On Friday, October 21st, the Fernie RV Resort received the Fernie Community Tourism Achievement award. Reto Barrington, FRVR Managing Director, graciously accepted the award from Jikke Stegeman, Executive Director of Fernie Tourism. The award is based on marketing creativity, investment that has resulted in more visitors and demonstrated support to the Fernie tourism industry.
The Fernie Chamber of Commerce presents the Fernie Business Excellence Awards. For 2016 there were 221 nominations representing 91 unique entries. The entries were judged by a volunteer panel of business people from Golden to Toronto. “This has been a fun process, as the judges send me their rankings they are all commenting on the exciting businesses and the great community investment being made by local enterprises,” says Patty Vadnais, Executive Director of Fernie Chamber of Commerce.
The first phase of the Fernie RV Resort opened April 1st, 2016 with a total of 115 campsites. This included 71 deluxe back-in sites, 26 premium pull-through sites built for large Class “A” motor coaches, 17 tent camping sites, and one group camping site that will accommodate up to 15 people.
