FRVR Policy
Camping Policy
The following policies have been established to ensure the comfort, enjoyment, safety and security of our guests and to facilitate the operation of the resort. These policies also help ensure the efficient and successful operation of the Resort.
Campground Fee
There is a $5 booking fee on all reservations.
Check-in
You must check-in at the office before proceeding to your site, site assignments may change prior to arrival.
Check-in time for all accommodations is 3:00pm (MST). The office is in the RV on site G25. Due to site cleaning procedures between guests, we cannot accommodate early check-ins, please make travel arrangements accordingly.
After Hours Check-in: If arriving after the office closes, you must pick up your check-in package upon arrival from the red Post box on the After Hours Info board outside of the office. Please be mindful of your neighbours if you are arriving later in the evening.
Check-out
Check-out time is 11am.
Quiet Hours
Quiet hours are 11:00pm to 8:00am. Excessive noise is not permitted at any time. Generators are not allowed to run at any time. Please be considerate of your nieighbours.
Noise violations will not be tolerated. All noise or behavioural complaints will be viewed as violations of the Terms & Conditions and the guest will be subject to immediate expulsion from the Resort at the discretion of management. Report noise violations to the Overnight Resort Host.
RV Site Occupancy
Rates are based on two adults per site, a $6 per night fee applies per additional adult guest. Maximum six adults per site. Children 16 years old and younger are allowed at no additional charge, provided that the total number of occupants does not exceed 8 people per site.
Only one camping vehicle is permitted per site.
Tents are only permitted on RV sites for children (16 years and under) at an additional cost of $6 per night. Tents must be registered with the office. The tent is to be no larger than five square meters (7ft x 7ft) and must only be pitched on the gravel pad in RV sites.
Tent Site Occupancy
Tent site rates are based on a maximum of two adults and one vehicle per site. Children (16 years and under) are free. If you are more than two adults, you will require a second site.
Tent sites have a maximum of two small tents or one large tent. Tents are welcome to be pitched on the grass in the section. Tent sites cannot accommodate anything towable, including tent trailers or small trailers, which will need to book an RV site.
Lodging Occupancy
Forestside Yurts permit a maximum occupancy of 6 people, no more than 4 of whom can be over the age of 16.
Luxury RVs have individual occupancy limits set based on the specifics of each unit. See the listing for each unit for specific details. The listed maximum occupancy must not be exceeded. Violating this limit will result in immediate eviction with no refund.
Deposit Policy at Time of Reservation
For daily or weekly rate reservations, full payment will be charged to your credit card at the time of booking.
Bookings 1+ months in length require the first month of the reservation to be paid in full as a deposit to confirm the booking.
Holiday Weekends
Holiday weekends require a three-night minimum booking and may be subject to peak season pricing.
Cancellation Policy
- Daily Rate Cancellation
We require a minimum of 7 days’ notice prior to your scheduled arrival date for all daily rate cancellations and changes to existing bookings.
Cancellations and changes made 7 days or more prior to the scheduled arrival date will receive a full refund less a $25.00 cancellation fee.
Cancellations and changes made less than 7 days prior to the arrival date are non-refundable.
No refunds will be provided due to early departure.
- Monthly Rate Cancellation
Cancellations made 14 days or more prior to the scheduled arrival date will receive a full refund less a $50.00 cancellation fee.
Cancellations made less than 14 days prior to the arrival date will receive a 50% refund.
No refunds will be provided on any monthly rate reservation once the month has commenced.
To end a multi-month booking earlier than originally booked, notice must be given in writing to the Fernie RV Resort Office at least 14 days prior to the end of the month. Cancellations received after this deadline will be subject to a $100.00 cancellation fee.
No Shows
If you have not checked in by 11am on the morning after your scheduled arrival date, and if you have not contacted Fernie RV Resort to inform them of your late arrival, you will be deemed a “No Show.”
If you are deemed a “No Show,” the site is considered forfeited, and no refund will be provided. Your reservation will be cancelled, and your campsite will be made available to other guests.
Reservation Date Changes
If you need to change the dates on your reservation, one complimentary change can be made per booking. For further changes, a $10.00 change fee will apply. Note that this fee does not apply if you are extending your stay.
Changes made less than 7 days prior to arrival that result in a reduction of the number of nights on the reservation are subject to our standard cancellation policy.
Luxury RV Policy
Luxury RVs require a 2-night minimum booking.
Stay-over service is only provided every 7 nights for longer stays, subject to a weekly cleaning fee of $100. Bookings less than 7 nights are not charged a cleaning fee.
It is the guest’s responsibility to ensure that all dishes are cleaned, and the RV is left in a gently used and clean condition upon check-out. Failure to leave your rental RV in a clean state will result in an additional cleaning fee of $150.
Pets are not permitted inside any of the Luxury RVs. A $250 charge will be incurred if this policy is violated.
A $50 replacement fee will apply for any missing keys.
No smoking or vaping is permitted inside the rental RV. A $400 charge will be incurred if this policy is violated.
Forestside Yurt Policy
Forestside Yurts require a 2-night minimum booking.
Pets are only permitted in the two pet-friendly yurts (Y1 and Y5). Pets are limited to two per yurt and must be declared when booking. A one-time $40 fee will apply to pet-friendly bookings.
A $50 replacement fee will apply for any missing keys.
No smoking or vaping is permitted inside the rental RV. A $400 charge will be incurred if this policy is violated.
Kitchen facilities are not provided; cooking is not permitted inside the yurts.
Pets
Two pets are allowed per booking. Additional pets will incur a $3/night fee per pet. Pets must be on leash at all times at the Resort and owners are required to clean up after their pets immediately. Pets are not permitted inside any of the washroom buildings or the playground area.
Pets cannot be left unattended or become a nuisance to other guests, including excessive barking or aggressive behaviour. Non-compliance with pet policies may result in immediate removal of the pet(s) and its owner from the Resort.
Accommodations
We guarantee the availability of the accommodation type booked, but we do not guarantee any particular site unless locked when booking.
To lock in a specific site number during the reservation process, there is a fee. If you choose not to lock in your site number and pay the lock fee, you will be assigned to the section you selected, but we are unable to guarantee your selected site number.
Long-term Stays
Long-term guests, staying one month or longer, are subject to electrical charges based on consumption as determined by the onsite electrical meter. Rates charged are the same as billed to FRVR. Campers are permitted to remain in an assigned site for no longer than a six-month period.
Wildlife
All wildlife attractants must be stored in a bearproof enclosure, such as the lockers attached to the washrooms in the tent camping area, or in a secured vehicle any time sites and accommodations are left unattended or when retiring at night.
Any guest found to be in violation of this policy will be charged $100.00 by Fernie RV Resort without warning and may be evicted without notice and/or refund. Should the Municipal Bylaw Department or the Conservation Service attend to the property, additional fines from $200.00 to $1000.00 may be assessed.
A fed bear is a dead bear. Please respect our wild neighbours and keep a clean campsite.
Visitors
Visitors are welcome between 8am and 11pm but must register all vehicles at the office and park only in designated guest parking areas.
Vehicles
Speed limit is 20km/h (12mph) – please yield for cyclists, pedestrians, and children playing.
Parking for one vehicle per site is included. Additional parking is available near the Office at an additional charge of $6 per night. Vehicles are not to be parked on any grass or roadway, or in other campsites. Unlicensed vehicles are not permitted to operate on the property of Fernie RV Resort.
Garbage and Recycling
Guests are required to deposit all garbage into appropriate bearproof garbage dumpsters located throughout the Resort. Burning of garbage is prohibited. Recycling and bottle deposit boxes are available alongside the garbage containers.
Fires
Wood and propane campfires are permitted but must be attended at all times, kept low, and strictly contained within the fire rings provided. Campfire bans may be imposed at any time by the local authorities and must be strictly adhered to.
Cutting trees, shrubs, or branches, and gathering dead wood, is strictly prohibited. Please do your part to maintain our natural environment.
Water Pressure Regulators
Water pressure at the Fernie RV Resort is 80psi and could damage your RV. Pressure reduction regulators are highly recommended. Fernie RV Resort is not responsible for any damage to a guest’s equipment due to water pressure.
Year-Round Water Service
Serviced RV sites are equipped with frost-free hydrants for year-round water service. Any damage to the site or Resort property resulting from freezing water lines, or other issues, will be repaired at the expense of the guest. Fernie RV Resort will not assume liability for any damage or loss to personal property resulting from weather or temperature.
Alcohol, Tobacco and Cannabis
Alcoholic consumption and smoking are only permitted in your site and is not permitted in public areas. Please be considerate and respectful of other campers, especially families with young children.
Drones
The use of drones is prohibited on the property.
Child Supervision
Children under the age of 12 must be always supervised at the playground and in all areas of the Resort.
Fees and Damages
By agreeing to these terms and conditions you authorize Fernie RV Resort to charge the amount due for your reservation to the credit card provided, including but not limited to any charges incurred for additional purchases or fees from property damage which can be attributed to the undersigned or by any member of their group during your stay.
Conduct
Please be courteous of other campers and do not cut through occupied sites.
Fernie RV Resort has ZERO TOLERANCE for any verbal and/or physical abuse towards staff, management, or other campers.
Termination of Stay
Fernie RV Resort reserves the right to terminate any stay without notice for violation of our policies. In this case, Fernie RV Resort will refund any amount paid for unused days.
DESIGNATED FLOOD ZONE
The Fernie RV Resort is located in a designated flood zone and as such may be subject to evacuation on eight hours notice.
Occupant Emergency Instructions
In Case of Emergency or Fire:
- Fernie RV Resort is located at 2001 6th Avenue, Fernie.
- For emergency services, call 911.
- Emergency calls need to be made by cell phone or at the Administration Building.
Read and Understand These Instructions:
- Practice fire safety and extinguish all campfires before retiring or leaving campsite.
- Be aware of any open fire bans in the Resort and honour those bans.
- Store all fire and fuel safely away from combustibles or firepits.
- Make yourself aware of the proper food and garbage handling procedures to prevent animal encounters.
- Be aware of the exits from washroom and laundry facilities.
- The washroom and laundry facilities are equipped with fire safety extinguishers.
- All access roads and roads situated in the Resort must remain clear of any obstruction at all times. No parking of vehicles shall be permitted on such roads, in order to enable access at all times by emergency vehicles.
Evacuation Notice
- The owner of Resort shall cause all persons and all recreational vehicles, and tents to be removed from the Lands upon 8 hours’ notice from the person designated by the Grantee (City) pursuant to the Emergency Program Act, RSBC. Such Notice will be enforced by the owner of the Resort in collaboration with the RCMP and other emergency services agencies.
In the Event of Evacuation
- Vacate buildings and structures in the Resort and meet at the Office building Muster Station.
- Follow the evacuation route for your site if vehicle exit is permitted. Do not speed or drive in a direction that is against the posted direction of traffic.
- Be aware of your neighbours’ mobility or possible challenges and communicate to Fire Department of Emergency Services Site Coordinator, Reto Barrington (250) 278-1444.
- In the event of an evacuation due to fire, inform the Fire Department or Emergency Services Site Coordinator (Reto Barrington) of the location of remaining fuel or combustibles at your site.
- If evacuating, take people, pets, medically required prescriptions or devices, and communication devices, cell phones or laptops. Take firearms and ammunition if these items are securable.
