Griz Days is Fernie’s annual winter carnival commencing in its 45th year and is traditionally Fernie’s biggest event. This year the Fernie RV Resort is very proud to support this annual Fernie tradition.
Griz Days celebrates our community’s winter heritage and historical traditions, while paying tribute to the mythical creature the Griz – who lives in the Lizard Range and shoots powder snow from his musket. The Griz is a legendary mountain man raised by grizzlies and brings bring epic powder snow to Fernie!
The festival takes place on the first weekend of March (4th to 6th) which usually falls just before the peak of Spring Break.
Griz Days has become a highlight of the annual Fernie calendar and draws overnight visitation who are not necessarily visiting Fernie to ski – but to experience arts, culture, dining and retail. And yes folks, it’s a party!
